Spider Veins

What is the downtime for this procedure?

It is recommended for leg veins that you don’t stand for long periods of time for up to 2 days and wear compression stockings. For facial veins there is no downtime but there may be redness or bruising on the treated area for 1-2 days. Whether getting treatment for spider veins on the face or legs, keep the area moisturized and protected with sunscreen.

Does it hurt?

Spider vein treatment may cause a brief pain that feels like a series of rubber band snaps. Clients will be offered topical anesthetic to minimize the discomfort felt.

Will I need more than one treatment?

Normally, no more than one treatment is necessary to treat a specific area; because of the nature of spider veins, it is possible to have more spider veins appear at a later date.

How quickly will I see the results?

Most spider veins will disappear immediately leaving no visual trace of the veins. Approximately 10-20% of veins will leave redness or a small bruise that lasts 1-7 days, sometimes longer.

What will I need to do post treatment to care for my skin?

As with any laser treatment, the skin will be dry and light sensitive. It will be necessary for the health of your skin to use moisturizer and sunscreen. At New Image, we have found that it is best for clients to use SkinMedica physician grade skincare products. This is because of the ingredients will not irritate the skin like many other skincare products.
